In such brief compass
What can be said worth saying?
The world’s what it is.

Image: this is a photograph of what is reputedly the oldest known world map, courtesy of Flickr user Playing Futures: Applied Nomadology. I have been unable to discover the provenance of the photograph; however, to the extent it is an accurate copy of a work that is in the public domain, it is unprotected by copyright, at least in the United States. Manuel Lima has an interesting discussion of this artifact at Visual Complexity.
